Supporting Crisis this Christmas

Put rough sleeping to bed for good this Christmas

Living on the streets of London is hard enough, but Christmas for homeless people is a particularly difficult period. Perhaps separated from their family or friends, and with the inevitable feelings of loneliness that this provokes, this is the time when London’s homeless most need our help.

To that end, Covent Garden London has partnered with Crisis, the national charity for single homeless people, during Christmas Delight. Crisis is dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change. Covent Garden visitors will have an opportunity to support Crisis during Christmas Delight by making a donation towards their valuable work.

Crisis’ innovative education, employment, housing and well-being services address individual needs and help people transform their lives. At Christmas, this could be as simple as providing a hot meal, a bed and some friendly company over the festive period, or running learning and skills classes to help each homeless person on a one-to-one basis.

This Christmas, Crisis will be concentrating on opening nine shelters across London to help homeless people over the festive period. The organisation also has ambitious plans for the future and is committed to helping more people in more places across the UK. Crisis know they won’t end homelessness overnight or on their own. But they take a lead, collaborate with others and, together, make change happen.

So if you’re in Covent Garden and you see a Crisis collector, please spare them some change. It’ll help to give someone a much happier Christmas.
