If you ever enjoyed a plate of steak frites on the Opera Terrace overlooking
Covent Garden Piazza, now’s the time to plan a return visit. Chez Gerard
has been replaced by Brasserie Blanc which opens its doors this coming
Wednesday 16th May with a menu that’s a sight more sophisticated than its
predecessor’s.
Start off your evening with a shot of absinthe slowly dripped over sugar
cubes at Bar Blanc. Then tuck into Burgundian snails, slow roasted pork belly
or free range Cornish steaks and take in the spectacular views from the
historic terrace. When it comes to dessert, you’re even more spoilt for
choice. There’s the legendary baked Alaska from the restaurant menu, or you
can head downstairs to the brand new crêperie.
Theatre goers are well catered for at Brasserie Blanc as the two-course Dine
with Wine menu is served from noon to 7 pm. And with outdoor heating
discreetly installed on the terrace, pre-show alfresco dinners will be an
option way into October.
