Lorraine Pascale is no ordinary supermodel. Spotted at 16 by the same scout who spotted Kate Moss, Lorraine spent the 90’s in-front of the camera in New York and was the first black British model to be on the cover of US Elle.
The former face of Versace and Donna Karan has pursued a post-catwalk career in cupcake creation. Still Bambi-limbed and radiant, Lorraine’s passion moved from catwalk to kitchen to school. Lorraine learnt her trade in the kitchen at the Wolseley and The Mandarin Oriental, following which she enrolled in a diploma in Food & Wine at Leith’s, the renowned cookery school and then completed a patisserie degree.
With a client list that includes Guy Ritchie and Marco Pierre White, she’s now set up her first shop in the Market Building. Dubbed Ella’s Bakehouse, she’s serving quality baked goods, including those legendary cupcakes, as well as a range of specialist coffees and teas.
Proof, if it were needed, that models do not live on cigarettes and champagne alone.
