Top chefs offer culinary masterclasses
Discover the secrets of some of the capital’s best-known kitchens as award-winning chefs from the Caprice Group reveal tips of the trade and favourite recipes in exclusive demos.
Their stable of renowned dining rooms includes the old world glamour of The Ivy and Scott’s, Italian gem Daphne’s, seafood specialist J Sheekey (with the more recently opened J Sheekey Oyster Bar), the champion of British food Rivington Grill and the ever-elegant Le Caprice.
The demos themselves which, you’ll be delighted to hear, include a tasting session at the end, take place every Thursday from 30th September until Christmas in the Market Building. Demos will run from 5.30pm-6pm and from 6.30pm-7pm, ending at the perfect time for you to nip home with a bag of ingredients and prepare a restaurant quality meal yourself!
Among the top chefs currently confirmed for the masterclasses is The Ivy’s Gary Lee. His career started at The Dorchester under the legendary Anton Mosimann and he’s been running The Ivy’s kitchen for three years. You can also expect to see Richard Kirkwood in action on Thursday 7th October. As the Head Chef at J Sheekey and J Sheekey’s Oyster Bar, this 34-year-old Scotsman is responsible for serving some of the best seafood dishes that the capital has to offer in his constantly busy restaurants. Other chefs from the Caprice Group include Phil Usher, the Group’s Pastry Chef, Iain Graham of Urban Caprice, Simon Wadham of Rivington Grill (Shoreditch & Greenwich) and Le Caprice’s Head Chef, Lee Bull.
This is your chance to learn from the masters, in the handsome and historic surrounds of one of Covent Garden’s most famous buildings.
