Jamie's Union Jacks is a huge hit in the Market Building
An exciting new dining experience created by Jamie Oliver and pizza supremo Chris Bianco has arrived in Covent Garden – British flatbreads baked on-site in wood-fired ovens. Or, for the uninitiated, pizzas made with distinctly local flavours. May we tempt your tastebuds? How about oxtail and brisket with red Leicester, watercress and horseradish on a scrumptious base of artisan dough? Then there’s ‘chilli freak’ featuring six types of chilli, or even pork shoulder with quince and bramley sauce.
And for those who don’t favour pizza, the menu includes staunchly British dishes like Devonshire crab plus a range of desserts such as sticky treacle tart, and homemade ice creams in quirky flavours like Earl Grey tea and biscuits. Local wines, spirits, ciders and beers continue the local theme as they hail from all four corners of the UK from Chapel Down in Kent to Gwynt y Ddraig in Pontypridd.
Yet another milestone in the gastronomic renaissance of WC2.
