The Jubilee Hall Trust has invited the Big Dance Bus down to Covent Garden on Tuesday 10th July, so get your dancing shoes on and join in the fun. A dancefloor on wheels, the double-decker is a platform for dancers from all different backgrounds to show off their moves.

Currently on a tour of London neighbourhoods as part of the London 2012 Festival, the Big Dance Bus will be in the Piazza from 12pm to 7pm, and the line-up of performances promises to have you swinging your hips. Ever heard of hip-hop hula? We hadn’t either, but you’ll know it off by heart after the 10th. Have you tried Zumba? There will be a taster session of the fitness dance craze too. And if you think you it’s time you learnt swing-dancing, folk or tango, there will be free workshops to attend – just pick up a flyer with a free dance class voucher.

Local schools will be taking part in the event, and cheerleaders will add a marching beat to the day. Some of the most popular dance styles in the capital will be showcased, from modern Indian to street and Latin, with choreography by London team Twitch.

The Big Dance Bus is supported by five London Big Dance Hubs, including English National Ballet and Sadler’s Wells. It’s aiming to be the UK’s biggest-ever celebration of dance and is a highlight of the London calendar in the lead-up to the Olympics.
