Let’s face it, unless you’ve got Tom Ford on your speed dial or are at least on nodding terms with Vogue’s Alexandra Shulman, the chances of checking out the shows at London Fashion Week are slim.
This is where London Fashion Weekend comes in. Set in historic Somerset House from 25th – 28th February 2010, it’s the ultimate designer fashion and shopping event for in-the-know fashionistas. There are over 140 top designers offering fabulous discounts, fashion and beauty tips and a catwalk show – think of it as London Fashion Week, minus the velvet ropes and impenetrable guest lists.
Last season’s exhibitors included Vivienne Westwood, Emma Cook, DKNY, Lulu Guinness, Sass & Bide, American Retro, Beatrix Ong, Belle & Bunty, Eley Kishimoto, Kors by Michael Kors, Linda Farrow and Philip Treacy plus many more. This year’s line-up is similarly impressive, offering visitors the unique opportunity to browse and purchase the collections from hundreds of Fashion Week designers, with many stalls manned by the designer themselves. Unique samples, one-off productions, past-season lines and current retail stock are all available at especially low prices just for the event.
To make it a top-to-toe fabulous February, visitors can also get their hair cut and styled by Toni&Guy catwalk stylists, receive a makeover from Elizabeth Arden’s beauty experts and watch a 40 minute fashion show which will reveal the key directional trends for Spring/Summer 2010. In short, it’s a fashion lover’s paradise.
