From the catwalks to the summer festivals, Melissa Shoes have been seen in all the right places this season, and now they’ve popped up on one of the most fashionable streets in the capital – King Street.

British designer Julie Verhoeven and neon artist Kleber Matheus collaborated on the interior design of the store, creating a suitably avant-garde space for the cult Brazilian brand’s first ever UK pop-up. Verhoeven calls the look ‘Barefoot on Home Turf’ and explains that “it celebrates Melissa cartwheeling into London and the city’s rich history of street culture.”

But the shoes themselves are the big attraction and the Spring Summer 2012 Power of Love collection has gone down a storm. The collaborations with Vivienne Westwood are a highlight and the velvet-texture ‘Skyscraper’ in pink is super cute. Look out for the ‘Peace’ wedge in yellow, complete with tassels and a mosaic design, and snap up a pair of the studded VW ‘Bootie’ that’s already the hottest festival welly for the summer that’s become a legendary wash-out.
