Floral Street encapsulates all that is great about London shopping. It has a sense of history and quirky style that transports you back to earlier times but combines that with some of the city’s most forward-thinking fashion stores. Thursday 1st April sees one of the street’s most popular stores, Ted Baker, re-open its doors after a big redesign.
While the trendy types at TedQuarters have been keeping the store’s new look under wraps (and believe us, we’ve even tried to peek through the letter box), what we can tell you is that its opening weekend comprises three themed days of activity, each reflecting the new style of one of the three floors in the store.
Thursday sees two ‘close-up’ magicians roaming the store performing tricks for customers and Friday has an art deco meets burlesque theme with fabulous balloon art lessons courtesy of Miss Ballooniverse. If you ever wanted to know how to make a balloon giraffe and let’s face it who among us hasn’t, then this is your chance.
Finally, head down on Saturday for a music spectacular featuring DJs who’ll be putting a Ted Baker spin on club classics. Plus there are complimentary floral-infused gin cocktails, courtesy of Bloom & delicious cupcakes courtesy of Lola’s, served all three afternoons. Very civilised.
