Whether you know they’re trolls or not (most people think they’re hippos), everybody loves the Moomins and now the cartoon family have their very own store in Covent Garden. A heart-warming experience for kids, the new shop magically recreates Moomin Valley, where the famous Finnish cartoon is set. Little ones will definitely get caught up in the excitement of the space, a land of rural charm like the one so beautifully imagined in the original stories.

Walking through Moomin Forest and Moomin Cave, visitors will then enter the heart of the store – Moomin Valley. Here, books, toys and merchandise are displayed in little blue Moomin ‘houses’, with all sorts of goodies to tempt young and old. High on our list are kitchen accessories and stationery which would make perfect gifts.

Serious fans of Moomintroll, his family and friends are spoilt for choice, too, with rare memorabilia and limited-edition items for sale, including prints of the original illustrations. Even for those who don’t know the Moomins, the store is a great way to get acquainted with the characters and the books they star in, which have been translated into 43 languages over the past 65 years.

The Moomin store is open from 10am-8pm Mondays to Saturdays and 11am-5pm on Sunday
